Does this sound familiar?

  • The handle will not lift or drops loosely
  • The key turns but the locking points stay engaged
  • The door only locks when pulled or pushed

Your door and lock matter.

Multipoint systems secure a door at several points. A cylinder, gearbox, strip or alignment issue can produce similar symptoms but require different parts.

What to expect.

Tell us the door material, whether it is open or closed, and any visible manufacturer marking you can read safely. Photograph the edge only if the door is already safely open.

Never remove locking components to keep an external door in use. Avoid forcing the handle upwards.

What influences the cost?

Opening a jammed door, identifying compatible parts and correcting alignment can affect the scope. Replacement part availability needs to be checked.

A few useful answers.

Does a new cylinder fix every uPVC fault?

No. The cylinder and multipoint gearbox do different jobs. Replacing the wrong part may leave the underlying fault unresolved.

Can weather affect a door?

Door fit can vary, but stiffness should not be assumed to be harmless. The door and mechanism need assessment.
